CW for me has been a great learning experience. It's a great feeling of accomplishment when you can learn a skill like Morse code. I can't remember a more exciting time in amateur radio then when I was beginning to learn Morse code, and while monitoring the HF bands, I was able to "decipher" a conversation between two hams out of a series of once meaningless beeps. From that point on I became hooked on CW. CW is by far the most efficient means of communicating on HF. It always has been, and always will be. I encourage all young amateurs who have not already learned the code to give it a chance, its easier than you'd think, and still the best mode we have.
