CHN Operation
Procedure: The general call is CQ CHN CQ CHN de ------ QNI
K. If a rare one shows up this should be modified to CQ CHN CQ
CHN with Juniata Pa de ------ QNI K. Every so often QNC the full
list of counties present. If no rare ones are present, simply ask
the whole net if anyone needs anything. If a rare one is present,
announce it and QNA as soon as possible.
Log keeping:
1804 1 K3WWP Armstrong, Pa. 2 B C D John
1850 1812 2 W4OWE Fauquier, Va. B C Alex
1816 3 W4EXI/M A Dinwiddie, Va. Vic
B Chesterfield, Va.
1835 4 K8MYU/M C Webster, W.Va. Dave
D Clay, W.Va.
The time is the time of QNI. Each station is given a number
upon QNI. Also each mobile county is given a letter. When a
station needs a county the number or letter of that county is
placed after the station needing it and the number is circled
upon QSO completion. When a station QNX his number is circled and
the time is recorded. This is my method of log keeping and it has
worked out very well for me. It is no standard set up so by all
means use your own method if you like it better.
Reporting: Reports to me should be received by the 5th of
the month covering the previous months activity and should be in
the following form.
time QNI QSOs
May 11 2300-0130 17 43
May 18 2310-0200 21 56
May 25 2300-0210 41 97
total 8 1/2 hrs 79 196
Also include a list of the rare counties that were present.
Absences: If you know that you are going to miss a session,
ask another NCS to take over for you. Do not take any other
stations session unless he asks you to do so, or I tell you to.
If you must quit as NCS, write me and let me know as soon as
possible.
Schedule: Every effort is being made to have the following
schedule going for the winter. Mon thru Sat evenings 2300-0200,
Sat 1430-2030, Sun 1630-2030. All on 7035.
REMEMBER: The success of CHN depends on you keeping your
skeds regularly and keeping me informed of the activity so I can
coordinate sked times with activity, etc. Any questions should be
sent to me via the mail as I will not be very active on CHN this
winter.
